Wild East Outfitters Would Like To Welcome It's Newest Guide: Andy Ranieri

Wild East Outfitters has made a couple of additions to the guide staff. We have added a handful of guides to the staff that will be covering guided float trips as well as walk and wade trips in eastern and central, PA. Andy will be providing guided float trips on the Lehigh River as well as the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers.

Andy grew up in central PA as part of a family where no one fished or hunted. In Jr. High, one of Andy's friends exposed him to fly fishing. He was instantly hooked. For his 15th birthday he was gifted a fly tying kit and signed up for an introduction to a fly tying class.

The instructor was Bob Clouser and his son. Once he was able to drive, he became a shop rat at Clouser’s. Bob was kind enough to teach him different things during slow times in the shop. He became a fixture at central PA streams like Clarks, Big Spring, Spring, The Letort and others. When he got out of the service in the late 80’s, he took a job at the largest private hatchery East of the Mississippi. One of the owners exposed Andy to the Beaverkill and Catskills which started a new chapter in his fly fishing. This is where he ran into Art Lee and was fortunate enough to fish with him several days a week for an entire season.

Since the mid / late 80’s, Andy has fallen in love with the challenge of chasing fish on larger waters like the Susquehanna River, the Lehigh River, The Upper Delaware and The Youghiogheny.

Just as Bob and Art shared their knowledge with Andy to make him a better fisherman, he looks forward to paying it forward and sharing what he has learned over his 36 years of fly fishing.

We are proud and extremely happy to have Andy working with us at Wild East Outfitters. Keep an eye out for new additions to the Wild East guiding team. We are adding some amazingly talented anglers and instructors who have joined and will be joining us.
